Warm tones create a severe, and heavy look. They tend to make the room seem a bit smaller. However, designers love these colors for areas such as a library or a study. I personally love the color in a kitchen.

Cool colors on the other hand, are better for use with decorating rooms for youngsters. Cool colors give the area the light and breezy feeling. These colors also make the room seem a bit larger than it is and less severe. Light-hearted and carefree. These cool colors are good conductors or light.
